The ANA held its inaugural US-Azerbaijan Academic Symposium under the motto “Translating Research into Practice” at the George Washington University on June 17. Scholars, researchers and experts from 16 universities and 10 organizations attended the event and contributed to discussions.
The event focused on such topics as the impact of human capital on economic development; education, science and institutional development; national identity, community building and human resources development; agriculture and business as well as security and conflict. Speakers presented various scholarly views on the mentioned topics and shared their research findings. The second day of the Symposium, perspectives from Azerbaijan-based scholars were presented as a part of bridge-building between the US and Azerbaijan academia.  US- and Azerbaijan-based scholars also considered possible academic and practical cooperation in the fields they are working on.
